In order to be ready for a CBRN incidents, it is necessary to be aware of the importance of this issue. First of all, the development of awareness will arise interest in the topic of CBRN. When interest arises, there will definitely be development of searching for more information. Due to developing CBRN incidents at the border since last 40 years, Turkey has to be prepared. The theoretical knowledge required for the defense of CBRN should be applied in the field with exercises and drills Exercises should address the potential CBRN threats to the country.
CBRN are weaponized or non-weaponized Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear materials that can cause great harm and pose significant threats in the hands of terrorists or military personnel. Weaponized materials can be delivered using conventional bombs (e.g., pipe bombs), improved explosive materials (e.g., fuel oil-fertilizer mixture) and enhanced blast weapons (e.g., dirty bombs).
